The IDEA-ICE-3000 Professional Inspector Certification Exam is designed to demonstrate inspection competency for the benefit of all stakeholders. Successful examination provides the employee and the employer with a heightened degree of confidence in the basic working knowledge and resource-ability of the inspector. When an employer has ensured that their personnel who conducts visual inspection of product from the excess market has been tested and certified, the company’s stakeholders are provided objective evidence and cause for increased confidence in the achievement of customer satisfaction and increased marketability of their products and services. Upon successfully passing the IDEA-ICE-3000 Professional Inspector Exam the candidate will be awarded a certificate stating that the individual has passed the exam and their name will be maintained on record at IDEA as having met this achievement. Note: Candidates must be an employee of an OEM, CM, EMS Provider, or IDEA General Member to meet eligibility requirements for the Exam. Successful completion of an IDEA Training Course does not guarantee eligibility for the Exam. All prospective Exam candidates must contact IDEA prior to submitting an application to confirm they have fulfilled all eligibility requirements. Those familiar with the Open Market know that performing visual inspections of electronic components requires specialized knowledge and skills by inspection personnel to visually evaluate product and its packaging for substandard and potentially counterfeit characteristics from quality characteristics. The IDEA-ICE-3000 Exam is based on industry standards and best practices relevant to the Open Market. The Exam is an open book Exam intended to challenge candidate in practical inspection knowledge as well as access and usage of relevant reference materials in the workplace.
